Jean McInally - A Brave Heart

My grandson, Craig was a typical 18-year-old teenager. His life revolved around his close family, his love of sport and his school.

He played football for a local Sunday Boys team every Sunday and sometimes on weekdays. He trained every week too and gave it 100%. Craig also played, not only for his High School team, but also for the area and Scottish schoolboys. On top of this Golf and Tennis were his two sporting hobbies.

After leaving school last June and while waiting to start his college course in September, Craig spent much of his spare time with his friends in sporting activities. During September/October he began to feel tired when taking part in games and, after a visit to his GP followed by an appointment at the local hospital, he was diagnosed as having an irregular heartbeat. He was told he would require a cardio-version as soon as possible. Meanwhile, he had to be very careful, stop all sports or exercise and inject himself every day with warfarin.

Our prayer group continued to pray for Craig but when the date for his treatment came in for the end of May it was decided to ask all other prayer groups via the internet link to pray that an earlier date would become available as his quality of life was deteriorating rapidly.

Such is the power of prayer that suddenly a date became available in February and we are glad to say that his treatment was a success and he has just had his final visit to his consultant.

We, his family, would like to thank everyone who asked the Holy Spirit for help. We believe that it was through all the prayers that Craig is now a healthy teenager once more.

"No need to remember past events, no need to think about what was done before. Look, I am doing something new, now it emerges; can you not see it. Yes I am making a road in the desert and rivers in wastelands." (Isaiah 43:18-19)
